Water Turtle Rescue

I was comeing out of a park, my dad being the driver. Lucky for his good eyes, he noticed a turtle laying in the street. Later i found out it was a water turtle. The turtle is now under extreme care and being fed. Acording to signs, we think the turtle may be a child. If you know anything about the following kind of turtle, please comment and help.
